"E.B. was a former President of the Birmingham Vulcans. I have never met anyone with more passion for his club, this sport, and his Rugby brothers." - Laney

"Please convey my sympathy to the Birmingham club members at the loss of EB. I played Prop opposite EB 25 years ago,  in the second rugby game I played. He was always a person I looked forward to seeing when we played Birmingham. The last time I saw him he had come down to the Battleship Old Boys party on board the USS Alabama a few yeras ago and dressed in an Elvis jump suit. He will be missed and he will be kept in my thoughts and prayers." - Brad Bassett
